We are holding our 8th annual Innovation CONNECT Technology Day & Networking Program (aka "Start up speed dating") this September at the Quadrus Conference Center in Menlo Park on Wednesday, September 19th.
This program provides a highly efficient, customized forum that enables leading companies to see the most relevant technologies and companies funded by VCs and angels. The companies you meet with are certain to be appropriate to your interests, because you select them in advance from a pre-screened candidate list which is prepared based upon your stated needs and interests.
The program works like this. Prior to the event, we gather 'problem statements' from CIOs, CTOs and other senior executives, then amalgamate them and present them to Venture Capital firms. The VCs submit these 'problems' to their portfolio companies with solutions to address these 'problems'.
On September 17th, we hold a half-day session starting with 2 minute presentations from each of the portfolio companies followed by 10 minute meetings with up to 10 companies (the speed dating portion) 1:1 between corporate and startup executives.
Companies that have participated in this program in the past include, Abbott Labs, AOL, AT&T, Bayer, Cisco, Citicorp, CSFB, Disney, Dreamworks, Facebook, Fox, GE, Google, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Lenovo, Lucent, MCI, Merck, Motorola, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Pfizer, Philips, Rambus, Sony, Sunoco, Televisa, Time Warner, Toshiba, Tribute Entertainment, Viacom and Yahoo!
Among the VCs that have participated are August Capital, Bessemer, Foundation, Greylock, Intel Capital, KPCB, Lightspeed, Norwest, Matrix, Sigma and Sutter Hill.
